Reception

Friday 21st July 2017

Well, what a fun week we had this week to end our school year!

On Monday the children helped to clean the toys ready for the new children which was extremely kind of them. While we did this we had fun in the water and the outdoor area.

On Tuesday we met up with Year 1 and 2 and had a lovely afternoon on the bikes, playing with the outdoor lunchtime toys and generally spending time with our friends.

On Wednesday we held our Open Morning and it was lovely to see so many parents come into school to open their child’s reports. This was a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the children’s achievements and all the parents were pleased with their child’s progress which was lovely to hear.

Thursday morning was our Awards Assembly. Well done to Patrick who was chosen as ‘Pupil of the Summer Term’ and to Erika who was ‘Pupil of the Year’. Both children have made phenomenal progress this year, not just academically but with their self- confidence and this has been lovely to see. Well done to all the other children across school who won awards too!

Following the assembly we had lots of fun activities! We made ‘Marshmallow Play dough’ which was amazing! We also made ice lollies from cordial and painted squares of paper using a small machine which spun the paper as the paint was added, this was great fun!

Thursday afternoon was our end of year party! There was lots of dancing and everyone had a brilliant time!

Friday morning was a reflective but sad morning where we listened to the Year 6 children retell their favourite memories of their time at Lowton J and I.  We wish them every success as they continue their learning journey in high school.

On Friday afternoon we spent time together and had a little party of our own. The children took part in pirate related activities such as throw the cannon ball through the treasure chest, pin the eye patch on the pirate and toss the hoops onto the Captain’s hooks. We played pirate music in the background which Finlay was extremely excited about and then we all sat down to a plate of party food on our special photo mats. To end the day we watched an episode of Jake and the Neverland Pirates while eating ice lollies that we had made ourselves the day before. It was a perfect end to an amazing week.

Well finally, we'd just like to say have a lovely summer and see you in September.

                                                                love from

Mrs Foy, Miss Davies, Mrs Churton  x
