Welcome to Lowton Junior and Infant School, encouraging growth at every stage of your child’s development.
This week has been lots of fun! We have still been working extremely hard to make sure we are ready for Year 3 and the long summer break. In Maths we have focused on number work and making sure we will any gaps there may be. We have worked on remainders, arithmetic and fractions. The children’s number work (I’m sure you’d agree) has come on lots throughout the year and this has been very pleasing to see.
In English we have been writing about The Rainbow Fish as part of our ‘Very British Holiday’ topic. On Friday we took the moral of The Rainbow Fish story and used it to create our own. It is great to see the children developing their imagination! As the children progress in to Year 3 it is important they continue to create their own ideas and extend the length of their writing.
We watched the Key Stage 2 performance on Tuesday morning. It was a brilliant performance and they all sang their hearts out!
If you have any reading books or library books at home please bring them back to school ASAP. We will be giving books back next week for the end of the year. Please can you bring in a BIG plastic carrier bag by Wednesday next week for the books to go home.
