Welcome to Lowton Junior and Infant School, encouraging growth at every stage of your child’s development.
Friday 14th July
Welcome back to Year 4’s Weekly Blog! Only one more week to go!
I would like to start this week’s blog by saying a huge well done to all of KS2 for their wonderful performance of Aladdin. All the children worked really hard to make the performance our best yet… and I’m sure that you will agree, they most certainly did. Thank you to all the parents for their support in finding costumes and for bringing the children back for last night’s performance.
Year 4 have been on the stage quite a lot this week as on Monday it was their last ever recorder lesson… and what better than to end our last session than with a performance to show off their recorder skills learnt throughout the year! The children performed really well and we even had some soloists!
We have lots of wonderful activities planned for our last week together. The children are looking forward to their end of year disco and Miss Myers has ordered some sewing materials to make dojo monsters!
Please could you send your child in with a strong plastic bag next week as we will be sending home this year’s books and various other things at the towards the end of the week.
Have a lovely weekend everyone, see you on Monday (the last one for six weeks!)
Love from Miss Myers, Miss Hughes and Y4 x
Friday 23rd December
We've made it! We’ve had a very busy week, mainly doing Christmas activities.
The children sang ‘The 12 Days of Christmas’ at the Grandparents’ Afternoon Tea in the hall, and they were very professional! Well done! The audience loved it. This was followed by watching ‘Oliver!’ on DVD, as we have been using an extract from the story, in our Guided Reading sessions.
Father Christmas took time out of his busy schedule to come and visit all the children on Wednesday, at the PTFA Christmas Party. How exciting! He actually knew that Calum wanted more dinosaurs to add to his (already large) collection!
On Tuesday everyone had their Christmas dinner, prepared by our wonderful school cook! It really got us all in the festive mood. Many of the children even managed to eat their sprouts, Miss Myers on the other hand….
We hope you all have a wonderful Christmas, which is healthy and fun! All our best wishes for an amazing New Year. We look forward to seeing you bright and refreshed in January, ready for our new Spring term.
Lots of love from
Miss Myers, Mrs Owen and all of Y4 children Xx
