Welcome back to Year 6 blog.
Wow! What a week!
Its scary to think that we only have one week to go before we break up for 6 weeks holiday, and for Year 6 children - their last week of Primary!
After an eventful, tiring but fun filled week at Hinning House, the children arrived (clean and sweet smelling) back in school on Monday morning raring to go. We added the finishing touches to costumes, props and then polished our lines to perfection. I have to admit that normal lessons were abandoned as dress rehearsals took over.
On Wednesday afternoon, we successfully performed our long awaited school performance ' Aladdin Trouble'. The children were absolutely amazing, as was the audience participation! The children delivered a quality, lovable Panto which was without doubt, hilarious and entertaining. A big well done to Year 3 choir who performed the songs along with Year 4,5 and 6 with gusto and enthusiasm. We are very proud of them all.
Despite all the dress rehearsals and polishing of lines, Year 6 managed to start the last part of their topic 'Fairgrounds' which was met with lots of whooping when they realised that hacksaws and glue guns were involved during the making of their very own fairground ride. They put their knowledge of electrical circuits to good use as motor shafts were added with batteries and elastic bands. Hopefully, by the end of next week we should have some fully functional model fairground rides making their way home! Have fun!
The weather next week is set to be warm but showery at times - have a lovely weekend everyone.
Mrs Price, Mrs Anderson, Mr Maund and all of Year 6.
