Welcome to this week’s Year 6 Blog!
This week has been a tough one: we have been doing Maths assessments! All the knowledge and skills the children have been learning so far have been put to the test in papers for both arithmetic and problem solving (reasoning). As a result, we all have a clearer picture of which areas of maths they need to concentrate on before the SATs in May.
In English we have continued to work on our grammar skills. Do you know what a coordinating conjunction is? Year 6 does! As ever, our teachers are very impressed.
Each and every day this week Year 6, along with the rest of the school, has been running the ‘Daily Mile’ around the playground. Some achieved it in record time without even getting out of breath, whilst others appeared to have been under the impression that the playground is round in shape and has pit stops along the way!
SATs club has continued this week – keep up the hard work!
The weather has certainly improved this week. Let’s hope it stays fine over the weekend so that the children have the option to do their homework outside…
